Armani Monté is a Hip Hop artist whose musical journey began at an early age. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, his passion for the music started in church, where his father used to sing. During his childhood, Armani participated in his elementary school glee club, where his love for performances grew. He explained “I remember my first time on stage, I ran off, because I was afraid. My mom talked to me, and I was never afraid to perform in front of people again.” Armani began to fall in love with hip hop after going to a Kriss Kross concert at the State Fair. He and his friends started a group where they used to sing and rap. High school is where Armani started taking his rap career a little more serious. He explained “it was my junior year, I was in a new school and it was a lot of dudes in the school rapping. I felt like I was as good or better than a lot of them, so I went home and started writing raps.”Originally going by the stage Ver$a, he gained recognition for his lyrical ability, and knew that rapping and performing were truly his gifts. In 2015, he decided to make his way back to music, where he released his first mixtape Retro 11’s. The release of the mixtape gained a lot respect amongst his peers. In 2016, he curated his own shows, taking his career into his own hands. He knew that if he was going to be a success, it will be so, with him in the driver seat. Now known as Armani Monté, he explained “It was time to drop the moniker, and give the world Armani.”
